Boutique Bed & Breakfast

Breakers Boutique Accommodation is north of Greymouth on the Coast Road heading towards Punakaiki and has four guest rooms, all with a fantastic sea view. Two of our rooms are upstairs in the main house and two of our rooms are in our separate garden annex building. Guests can lie in bed, watch the rolling surf and be lulled to sleep by the sound of the breaking waves. All rooms are tastefully decorated - a touch of luxury, warm and inviting and have ensuite bathrooms, full linen provided, ironing facilities, hairdryer, hot drink making facilities including small fridge and outdoor balcony access.

Breakers is set on two acres of native bush and landscaped gardens overlooking the Tasman Sea. With plenty of outdoor seating guests can sit back, relax and enjoy the sea views.  We have a private track for beach access.

Beachfront Location

Breakers is located on the Coast Road north of Greymouth and south of Punakaiki. It is designed to maximise the beachfront location and is perched with the Paparoa mountain range behind and the might of the Tasman Sea out in front. A little touch of luxury by the Sea.

Checkin/Checkout

Checkin between 3pm and 6pm  Our gate is shut between these hours for the safety of our dogs.  Please contact in advance to discuss arrival outside of these times so we can arrange access to your room if able.   If you are going to be later than 6pm please phone to advise or email so we can discuss your expected arrival time and dining options and ensure someone is here to meet you.  

Please note arriving after 8pm without notification we cannot guarantee availability of your room.

Checkout 10am - we ask that you room be vacated at this time but you are welcome to take a walk on the beach afterwards.

Breakfast

Breakfast is included in our room tariffs.  We have a small menu with cooked options as well as cereal, fruit, yogurt and toast.  Please see our Dining Page for further information.

WiFi

Wifi is available throughout the property. We have Starlink - the satellite system - it can be intermittent at times but generally pretty good - and it is free.

Comfortable Guest Lounge

Breakers has a dedicated guest lounge with large comfortable sofas and a selection of movies.  Guests are welcome to use the movies in their rooms on their laptops or with our portable DVD player subject to availability.  There is also a comprehensive selection of books including information on New Zealand, history, wildlife, flora and fauna. There are also board games available - please just ask.

Children

Children are welcome at Breakers.  Bed configuration is as per detailed room information:

Koru room available for triple occupancy for children only (2 sharing king bed plus 1 single bed). Additional fees apply for triple occupancy. Cot availble on request for Kowhai, Koru and Sunset rooms. Maximum three in room no matter ages.

Parking

Plenty of safe off-street parking is available. Our garden annex building (Koru and Nikau rooms) has a covered carport

Payment

Credit card details are required to secure the booking.  No payment is made in advance.  Payment is taken either night of arrival or morning of departure.  Credit card surchage fees apply of 4% (5% for Amex).

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled within 14 days of arrival date or no-show 100% forfeit of total booking. If cancelled between 15-30 days of arrival date 50% forfeit of total booking. Due to the small size of our business cancellations effect us greatly.  We appreciate that unexpected changes to travel plans may occur and we recommend adequate travel insurance to protect you against late cancellation penalties.

Mother Nature causing issues with weather and roads affecting stay are not covered, therefore we highly recommend travel insurance. Breakers is unable to carry losses on behalf of guests that should be covered by a good travel insurance policy.

Pets

We have two family dogs, Ansel a German Shorthaired Pointer and Emma an English Pointer.  They are inside dogs but are not allowed in the guest rooms or guest lounge/breakfast area.  They enjoy exploring their surroundings and meeting our guests.
