How far are you from Greymouth?

We are 14kms from Greymouth - an easy 10 minute drive to the north on the Coast Road - State Highway 6 heading towards Punakaiki.

Do you have free parking?

We have plenty of free off street parking

Do you provide breakfast?

Breakfast is included in our room rate.  We have a small menu including hot and cold options

Do you cater for specific dietary requirements?

We are happy to accommodate specific dietary requirements for breakfast, including gluten free, dairy intolerance, allergies.  Advance notice is required to ensure we can accommodate requirements.

Do you provide evening dining?

We offer a homemade pizza or West Coast Pie Company Pies.  These options need to be ordered at least the night before.   We do not offer gluten free or diary free options.

Where is the nearest restaurant/cafe?

Greymouth is an easy 10 minute drive from Breakers Boutique Accommodation and has a good selection of restaurants and cafes.  We are happy to make recommendations and bookings on your behalf.  In Dunollie an easy 5 minute drive from us is our local pub offering good hearty pub food.  The village of Runanga also an easy 5 minute drive from us has a takeaways offerings until 7pm.

What time is Checkin?

Check-in from 3.30pm until 6pm, earlier by arrangement.  Guests must phone if going to be later than 6pm – 03 7627743 (limited cell coverage so phone early if leaving previous destination late), so we know are safe and can advise on dining options and ensure someone is here for your arrival. Note latest checkin is 8pm - can not guarantee room availability after this time without prior notification.

What time is Checkout?

Checkout is 10am.  As long as room is vacated by this time to enable cleaning, guests are welcome to take a walk on the beach.

If I cancel my booking do I still have to Pay?

Depending on the notice of cancellation, cancellation fees apply. 

If cancelled within 14 days of arrival date or no-show 100% forfeit of total booking. If cancelled between 15-30 days of arrival date 50% forfeit of total booking. Due to the small size of our business cancellations effect us greatly.  We appreciate that unexpected changes to travel plans may occur and we recommend adequate travel insurance to protect you against late cancellation penalties.

Mother Nature causing issues with weather and roads affecting stay are not covered, therefore we highly recommend travel insurance. Breakers is unable to carry losses on behalf of guests that should be covered by a good travel insurance policy.

Do you have Pets?  . 

We have two family dogs on site, Ansel a German Shorthaired Pointer and Emma an English Pointer.  They are inside dogs but are not allowed in the guest rooms or guest lounge/breakfast area.  They enjoy exploring their surroundings and meeting our guests.  To ensure the comfort of future guests, please don't encourage them. You are welcome to play with them outside.  Our gate is shut until 3pm to ensure their safety.

Do you Allow Pets?

Generally pets are not allowed.  From our shoulder season May through September, if you are hoping to bring your fur baby with you, please do enquire as we will assess on a case by case basis.

Do you Allow Children?

Children are welcome.  Room configuration is as per description for each room under Accommodation.  Our Rooms are double occupancy or Koru can be used for twin (or triple occupancy with child under twelve years old and two people sharing same king bed) - NO three adults in room).  Cot available at no extra cost on request for Kowhai, Koru and Nikau rooms (note for Koru room child in cot counts as third person - maximum 3 people).  We have no other facilities on site for toddlers (ie highchair, baby bath etc).  Parents are responsible for ensuring children are respectful of our property and due care to be taken for any hazards on the property.

Do you have Accessible Features?

Our Koru room is disabled friendly with hard surface car parking, wheelchair ramp access, large spacious room with wide doorways, and disabled bathroom facilities with slide shower and hand rails provided.

Do you Have Wifi?

Free Wifi is available throughout the property. We have Starlink - the satellite system - it can be intermittent at times but generally pretty good.  You may have to move around the property for the best signal.

Do you Have Cellphone Coverage?

No cellphone coverage is available.  Nearest connectivity is approximately 150 metres at the Strongman Mine Memorial and Lookout.  We are happy to use our landline to make reservations and do activity confirmation on guest behalf.

Some modern phones may be able to connect through the internet.
